Job Title: Daytime Delivery Driver, Metro Detroit
Reports to: Fleet Manager
Compensation: Full-Time / Non-Exempt / Hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday, starting 6am
Our team of Delivery Drivers safely and efficiently drop-off and pick-up orders from our customers and vendors. This is a physically demanding job that requires loading and unloading products from the truck. The position also involves a large degree of customer/vendor interaction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safe, reliable transportation of CCF inventory to customers and from vendors using CCF vehicles.
- Follow compliance with Management, CCF, and DOT regulations regarding transportation, fleet safety, and other SOPs.
- Loading and unloading of inventory on and off of trucks.
- Utilize office technology, email, and cell phone to stay in communication with the CCF team.
- May include some merchandising at retail customer sites as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Michigan CDL B required with at least 2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably working in wholesale food delivery
- Valid DOT medical card.
- Ability to pass drug screening and any other DOT-required testing.
- Ability to maintain a safe driving record that meets DOT requirements.
- Excellent customer service skill, attention to detail, and reliability are all a must.
- Ability to adapt to new technology as needed.
- Food-related experience is a plus.
- Work requires Michigan Liquor Control Commission company to be able to procure for you a license allowing you to handle alcohol.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly, climb in and out of a truck, stand, stoop, and bend throughout the shift.
- Ability to pull/push manual pallet jack with a pallet on it weighing up to 2000 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, kneeling, navigating up/down stairs.
- Visual acuity to operate vehicles and heavy equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work involves a variety of environments: office, warehouse, and outdoor weather. Exposure to a variety of temperatures in the warehouse, freezers, and coolers, and around building grounds is possible - personal protective equipment is provided.
