Job Summary

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and administration of Hogan’s benefit programs and plans including welfare and 401k.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the analysis, evaluation, communication, implementation and administration of a variety of employee benefit programs
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable legal requirements regarding various welfare and 401k plans including federal, state and government regulatory filings and processes (i.e. 5500s, SPDs, SARs, audits, non-discrimination testing, ACA, etc.)
  • Maintain and supervise welfare benefit programs (including, but not limited to, health, dental, vision, life, disability, Aflac, HSAs, HRAs, FSAs, EAP, and PTO)
  • Manages FMLA process and any state leave regulations
  • Ensures insurance invoices are audited, accurate, and paid timely
  • Ensure employee payroll deductions are accurate
  • Serves as main contact with Work & Well for COBRA administration
  • Develops and administers a employee benefits education strategy
  • Manages the open enrollment process
  • Resolves escalated benefit issues from employees or providers
  • Ensures proper benefits enrollment (or disenrollment) for new hires, status changes and separation
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to employee benefits
  • Ensures HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) and all subcomponents are working efficiently and accurately
  • Creates reports, as needed, for others within the department or other internal customers
  • Ensures confidential information is protected.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field required. Master’s preferred
  • 4+ years benefits administration experience including welfare and 401k benefits
  • Experience in an organization with a multi-state, multi-site operations
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Strong understanding of welfare benefit programs including 401k
  • Good business acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Union experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and PowerPoint
